Immanuel Anglican Church News November 8, 2017
Dear fellow Members and Friends of Immanuel Anglican Church.
Greetings and blessings be with you all as we enter the first movement of Winter.
Please make note of these upcoming events.
This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday. We will take some time to remember those whose lives were given for our nation and in the cause of peace and justice.
This Sunday is also Food Bank Sunday. At Immanuel we support two Food Banks on a regular basis, the one in Wetaskiwin, and the one in Millet. When we raise our generosity another notch, there are two more food banks in our area, who could do with some support. Together we serve the poor as Jesus asks.
Our Vestry is meeting on November 16th at 5:30 PM
The ACW is asking for donations of gently used Christmas decorations and other items as they prepare for the annual "Christmas Once Again" Sale. The Sale will be 10-5PM on November 24th and 10-2PM on November 25th.
The ACW is inviting all Anglican women, and their friends to a Christmas Tea on December 2.
With the leadership of Ruby Faille, our parish is supporting the work of the Neighbours Outreach Wetaskiwin that provides lunches and other support to people in need. They operate from the little Church-like building just down 53rd from the Church. They would be appreciative of people willing to volunteer some time to help. Every 5th Sunday we have a second collection specifically for work of NOW.
Advent is coming, and with it the preparations for Christmas. For this season we are looking for people to help with the special Advent Candle Lighting Ceremony we have on each Sunday of Advent. We are also asking for volunteers who wish to provide some music at Christmas. We would love to have a small singing group to do some special music.,
Please think about making time on Christmas Eve for either the 4 PM family service or the 9 PM service. We are encouraging people to invite their friends and family to join in.
Thanks for your support, and for your participation.
